Heather is a humor-driven nonfiction writer who has spent the better part of the last two years exploring Central Florida as a curious transplant, visiting more than ninety unique attractions, oddities, landmarks across the region. Growing up in Kentucky, Florida was always the vacation destination. She was amazed to find out there’s so much more to Florida than beaches and theme parks. There’s also stifling humidity, grumpy natives, and mosquitoes that outnumber the Disney crowds ten times over. But the beautiful springs, amazing wildlife, and kitschy roadside attractions make it all (almost) worth it. Heather lives in Inverness, Florida, with her husband, Doug, and this is her debut book.
